A memorial gift or gift in honor is a thoughtful way to remember a loved one or dear friend while at the same time giving hope to others.

When donating, kindly give us the name of the memorial or person of honor and the name of a family member or close friend you wish to notify. Wings of Hope

Is a community based, total volunteer organization formed to help cancer patients with the financial distress they can experience as they undergo the often lengthy treatments a cancer diagnosis involves.

You can help! These dollars help pay expenses such as hotel rooms, transportation, food cards, wigs, education needs and medication costs.

The need is urgent and ongoing. You can give anytime or schedule a recurring donation.

Hospice

Home nurse helping woman stand up

Hospice care gives the seriously ill patients and their loved ones meaningful time together when the focus of care turns from active treatment to comfort and quality of life near the end of life.

Our team of healthcare professionals surround the patient and family. We neither hasten nor postpone death, but affirm life.

By making a donation to WVU Medicine Hospice, you are assisting families in caring for their terminally ill loved ones at home with dignity and quality until death, regardless of their ability to pay.

Memorial Garden

WVU Medicine Hospice Memorial Garden is 1.7 acres of land in the VA Memorial Park in Clarksburg, West Virginia. The garden allows families of past patients, along with community members to reflect on memories of their loved ones, both alone and with others feeling loss.

Memorial Garden pavers support the work of WVU Medicine Hospice and provide a tribute to the ongoing care of the terminally ill in our communities.

When you purchase a paver, you are creating a lasting legacy. Pavers may be purchased in memory to honor a friend or loved one, as well as on behalf of an organization or corporation.

Pavers may be purchased for $100. A portion of this purchase is tax deductible. We will contact you after receiving your order to confirm correct spelling and punctuation prior to engraving and installation.

Grateful Patients

The United Health Foundation has established the Grateful Patient Program to provide opportunities for patients to express their gratitude for the care they have received at United Hospital Center. Charitable gifts may be made in honor of a physician, nurse, or other healthcare staff member who has been a part of a patient’s medical journey. We will notify caregiver of any gifts made in their honor. Please know that we will not specify the amount of the donation in the acknowledgment.

We are always interested in learning how an individual or team touched you or your family’s life during your care experience. Please feel free to email us your story at givetouhc@wvumedicine.org.

Women’s Health Center

We continue to evolve and expand to serve the needs of our community. In response to an identified need to advance the quality of healthcare for women, we are on the cusp of taking another critical step in our growth on the UHC campus.

United Hospital Center is building a state-of-the-art Women’s Health Center, which will change the way women in our community access healthcare. Architectural drawings are currently out for bid, and groundbreaking will be in the fall.

This new center will provide an exceptional, calming environment for the women of our community to gather, receive first-class healthcare, and experience pivotal moments all under one roof. A place where women can receive the care they deserve for themselves and where physicians and healthcare providers can collaborate, communicate, and build a community around the needs of the extraordinary women in our lives.

United Hospital Center is asking for your support because we believe that a strong community is something we can only achieve together – thank you for joining us.
